Porcelain Veneers in Atlanta

Natural-looking dental veneers for a beautiful smile

Porcelain Veneers - The Atlanta Dental GroupPorcelain veneers are durable, thin (about a half a millimeter thick) porcelain facings that are bonded to the front of your teeth to improve their shape, color or size. Veneers can also close gaps and straighten mildly crooked teeth.

Your smile can be transformed into a beautiful new one in as little as two office visits.

Creating your beautiful, new smile with Dental Veneers

Porcelain Veneers - The Atlanta Dental GroupOn your first visit, Dr. Padolsky will do an exam and will discuss your smile options with you. You can tell him what you’re looking for and together, you will both plan your new smile.

He will take external digital photos that are uploaded to a computer with imaging software. Next, Dr. Padolsky will take X-rays, if needed, and take impressions of your teeth to make a wax model. The wax model is used to sculpt your new smile. Dr. Padolsky can make changes to the wax model to your satisfaction.

A shade guide is used to help you pick the shade that is just right for you.

Veneer preparation

Dr. Padolsky uses high-quality e.max porcelain veneers. In some cases he will use minimal prep veneers but as even the thinnest veneers add a small amount of bulk to the front of the teeth, he may need to prepare your teeth by shaving them down a bit. You have the option of getting a local anesthetic to ensure comfort during this process.

Taking your veneers for a test-spin

Dr. Padolsky will place temporary veneers that look as close as possible to your final, finished veneers. This gives you a chance to see if you like how your new smile looks, and to get feedback from your friends and family. If you are happy with how they look and feel, full instructions are then sent to the lab to prepare your final veneers.

Ready, set, Go!

When your permanent porcelain veneers are ready, Dr. Padolsky will remove the temporaries and place the permanent veneers in position so you can see how they look. Dr. Padolsky will make any needed adjustments and then when you are totally satisfied that they look how you want, he will cement the final veneers in place.

Now you are ready to flash the world your brand new, beautiful smile!

Dental Bonding—less costly than Veneers

Porcelain Veneers - The Atlanta Dental GroupDental bonding offers a more economical alternative to veneers where staining, gaps or cracks have occurred. Dental bonding can also be used to change the shape and length of teeth and improve bite function.

Dr. Padolsky will apply a tooth-colored (durable plastic) resin to teeth to correct these conditions. Some minor tooth preparation is required before the resin is applied in layers. A UV curing light is then used to harden and smooth the resin to the desired shape. One visit for this procedure is all it takes.

Dr. Padolsky uses a state-of-the-art bonding material, called template bonding, that captures all the subtle nuances of your teeth and also hardens quickly. With template bonding, you spend less time in the chair and the end result is esthetically pleasing.

Although dental bonding and porcelain veneers share some things in common, dental bonding is not as durable and stain-resistant as veneers. But for a less-expensive alternative, dental bonding will create a very natural-looking finish, giving you a beautiful new smile.
